Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are officially divorced, court sources confirm to Fox News Digital.
Shriver, 66, initially filed for divorce from Schwarzenegger, 74, in July 2011 citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Shriver and Schwarzenegger’s property settlement has kept the divorce from being finalized all these years.
The divorce was actually finalized by a private judge earlier this month but needed to be signed off by a sitting judge. The private judge was appointed on Nov. 10 and the sitting judge signed off on the divorce Tuesday morning, according to court records.
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER WISHES SON WITH FORMER MISTRESS, JOSEPH BAENA, A HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY
The divorce came after news broke that the actor had secretly fathered a child with the family’s housekeeper Mildred Baena in 1996. Schwarzenegger has maintained a relationship with the son he shares with Beana, Joseph.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver have children as well. The former couple shares sons, Patrick and Christopher, along with their daughters, Christina and Katherine.

Despite the public scandal in 2011, Schwarzenegger and Shriver have managed to maintain a friendship and have spent different family holidays together. Shriver was pictured celebrating Schwarzenegger’s 73rd birthday along with the former couple’s children back in 2020.
Schwarzenegger wrote about his affair and child in his memoir. Shriver had waited until after the actor’s run for governor of California was over to confront him about it.
