President Emmerson Mnangagwa spoke to New York investors forum before his addressing to United Nations General Assembly this week and soon after made an offer to Trump staffers about pitching land in the tourist town of Victoria Falls since President Donald Trump is a keen golfer.
“I had offered President Trump ground to build a state-of-the-art golf course so that as he plays he can be able to see the big five (lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard),”
President Mnangagwa has made this gesture as he wants to warm up to United States to rekindle relations lost by Robert Mugabe who had icy relations with Western countries over human rights abuses that led to many sanctions.
Mnangagwa and many other South African nations are facing US sanctions and despite these sanctions only Mugabe had forcefully resigned from his post under military pressure. Mnangagwa still wants to continue seeking investment in a economy that is struggling.
