The 38th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SIBA). It concluded from 30 October to 9 November under the theme “Open a book that opens minds”.
It received 2.52 million visitors over 11 days, with the participation of literary flags from the Nobel Literature Campaign. International poker, film directors won the Oscar, and more than 2,000 publishers from 81 Arab and foreign countries participated.

Break the record
In a new achievement in addition to the series of achievements. The exhibition broke the record of the largest book signing ceremony in the world. setting a new record in which 1502 writers participated in one collective signing ceremony, for works in different languages of the world. Surpassing the previous world record in Turkey with the participation of 1423 writers at the same time.
One billion books
During the exhibition, the Sharjah Book Authority signed a new partnership agreement with Big Bad Wolf, the organizer of the largest bookstore sale market in the world.
With the aim of:
- Opening the regional branch of Big Bad Wolf – Sharjah in the Sharjah Free Zone to promote the movement of Tadawul.
One billion books will be published by the Middle East and African countries over the next five years.

Mexico is a guest of honour and crowning symbols of Arabic literature
This year, the exhibition crowned by the Republic of Mexico as a guest of honour. Lebanese literary critic Dr Yomna al-Eid (Hikmat al-Sabbagh) was chosen as the cultural figure of the year. He also reviewed the experience of the Oscar-winning director on the music of his famous Indian slumdog millionaire, Sampuran Karala-Gulzar, and hosted the poker-winning novelist Jokha Al Harthy and Indian poet Vikram Seth.
