Horizontal skyscraper of China nears completion


Raffles City Chongqing highly anticipated from China is nearly complete as an engineering marvel.

Designed by Moshe Safdie, world-renowned architect that measures 1.12-million-square-meters including a collection of eight towers besides a gigantic connecting sky bridge called a “horizontal skyscraper.”

Crystal is the chosen name for 250-meter-long sky bridge that is believed to be one of the world’s highest.

Crystal will have a sky gardens, infinity pool, viewing gallery and various restaurants.

Sky bridge can transforms into a giant light beam if wasn’t enough at night time in order to illuminate the sky with a light show.

Raffles City Chongqing is about to to open this year after the final & eight of $3.8 billion mega structure was topped out.

Th traditional Chinese sailing vessels was the design for Crystal referring to the past of Chongqing as a trading center.

Crystal is located in center of the southwestern Chinese city in front of intersection of Jialing River & Yangtze River.



According to deputy CEO of CapitaLand China Lucas Loh, trees enliven the sky bridge after being transported over that is going to feature the tallest observation deck in western China.

“After six years of construction using state of the art engineering technologies, we are proud to present in Raffles City Chongqing an iconic architectural form resembling a powerful sail surging forward on the historic Chaotianmen site. Positioned as a must-visit destination for local residents as well as domestic and overseas travelers, Raffles City Chongqing has been garnering strong response from our customers”, Loh stated.
