Scouting international partners to save a country from economic crises

Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is trying to travelling to a number of Latin American countries including Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and Argentina- Qatar is currently facing economic crises and the emir is traveling to attempt to find new partnerships since last year’s dispute, where many GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severed economic and political relations with Qatar.

Qatar is the world’s largest LNG supplier, has investments in Argentina through Qatar Petroleum and is looking to expand into Latin America. Qatar’s two biggest LNGs also had a merger this year to reduce operations costs significantly as demands from the local region were at risk.

 

The emir of Qatar has also begun an official visit to a number of Latin American countries, as part of the development of political and trade relations in his country in the face of regional isolation.

The visit will also include many countries in Latin America such as Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and Argentina- in response to calls from presidents

The emir will visit Latin America, to open a sports channel that will feature international tournaments and free continental football. This will come into affect after signing of a number of agreements and an Memoranda of Understanding.
