The Royal family has many important tasks to fulfill and one them is waving to people each year. And a book source reveals that the Queen has a special waving machine that waves for her, its obvious there will always be large gatherings to attend to and waving at all of them can be extremely exhausting.
This waving machine was a gift from a group of Australian students, they initially though it was cheeky but she was thrilled to see a machine of such sorts. It’s mechanism is simple – they gave her a stuffed glove on a wooden lever so you tweak the end of the lever and the hand would go to and fro. Its not sure if she does use this gift but she did accept it in good humor.
‘The Queen was rather taken with it and I think it ended up at Balmoral, I don’t think she ever used it in public, but I hear it became a much-loved family joke.’ the author of the book Robert Hardman wrote.
Even the Royal Yacht Britannia claims that the crew members were tired of waving they employed special techniques to do something else. Albert ‘Dixie’ Deane, who is a member of the crew, added: ‘It was exhausting to wave all the way through, but they didn’t want to upset the locals, so we had a party whose job was just to wave.’ In the book the Queen states this hand waving machine became a family joke and revealed several anecdotes
