NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack and MSNBC Coordinator Phil Griffin announced her new job in a memo to staff, which reads: “Rashida is well recognized at MSNBC in her current capacity, and as the previous daytime managing director. Today she offers a whole unique range of experience from the platform, in terms of breaking news — as she did by handling special reports; by delivering live shows on a large scale — as she did with our most recent election debates; and by leading big cross-network campaigns, as she did with Justice for All Series last year.
Jones will maintain her duties as executive vice president of events for NBC News and MSNBC as per Yahoo.
Jonathan Wald, SVP Programming and Production, and Dan Arnall, executive editor of MSNBC, were named by MSNBC in June to manage daytime, per Deadline.
