Who is Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed Al Nahyan

Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is among the sons of Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince. He also held several positions in the United Arab Emirates, most recently in 2016 as Deputy National Security Advisor and Head of State Security Service, succeeding Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Khalid bin Mohamed visits Furusiyya Exhibition

His highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Board and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Board, also visited Louvre Abu Dhabi to see his current exhibition ‘ Furusiyya: The Art of Chivalry between East and West’ accompanied by members of the Executive Board.

On his arrival at the museum, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, and Manuel Rabaté, Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Director, welcomed him.

His Highness visited the exhibition and enjoyed the view of over 130 objects. Showing the emergence of knights as a social class, the art of war, and how knights ‘ favorite pastimes manifested throughout the Middle Ages ‘ visual culture.

Sheik Khalid viewed objects ranging from arms and armour, two manuscripts and treaties written and illustrated to heraldic and decorative objects. These are complemented throughout the Middle Ages by a historical account and comparative study of the knightly culture in the East and West.

The exhibition will also be on view until 30 May 2020 and will be accompanied by a comprehensive cultural program including a performance by the contemporary artist Wael Shawky with over 20 singers and musicians performing in the classical Arabic style, which first evolved over 800 years among Arab Gulf fishermen.

His role in Abu Dhabi’s Ghadan 21 drive

A package of stimulus  designed to boost the Abu Dhabi private sector and quality of life delivered.

The Ghadan 21 initiative, a three-year Dh50 billion investment programme, is with creating a boost to business confidence, providing critical funding to researchers and start-ups and contributing to the development of new spaces and activities for the city.

A series of new projects will carry out over the next two years.

Meanwhile, market changes, including a license upgrade, led to a 3.4 percent increase in Abu Dhabi’s last year’s business confidence index score. Showing the scheme’s “remarkable impact on the economy,” according to the Abu Dhabi government.

The important initiative

“We are investing through Ghadan 21 in initiatives that make business simpler and more attractive. Foster innovations and promote innovation for a tech  future, and ensure the well-being of the people of Abu Dhabi”.  Said Sheik Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

“We will continue to launch initiatives. To also speed up Abu Dhabi’s path towards becoming one of the greatest and most sustainable places in the world to do business”. He added: “I am happy to launch the results achieved in the first year of the Ghadan 21 Accelerator Program, launched to drive Abu Dhabi’s growth by concentrating on economy, information and competitors.

Hub71, an incubator scheme to lure tech start-ups to Abu Dhabi. It is among the programs coming under the umbrella of Ghadan 21. At the moment, it is home to 39 businesses.

Another factor is the initiative for Abu Dhabi, which works on hundreds of urban regeneration projects. Among these are the planting of an ’urban forest’ in Reem Island. Revealed last week as part of a drive to make the city more living. The result of the scheme is also colorful new pieces of public art that appear in Abu Dhabi.

Jebel Hafit Desert Park

H.H. Sheik Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan opened a new tourist attraction in Al Ain, featuring historical remains.

The Department of Culture also opened Jebel Hafit Desert Park. Located about 20 km south of Al Ain on the east of the Jebel Hafit.

Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of Municipalities and Transport Department, Saood Al Hosani. Acting Under-Secretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, and also other dignitaries attended the opening.

After the ceremony to open, H.H. Sheik Khalid has also made a tour of the park to see the facilities available there for himself.

Furthermore, the Park is one of the first UAE site as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The new attraction will also include a range of outdoor activities including bike riding, guided hiking tours. And many camping options–from luxurious’ glamping’ to individual tent camping–and guided tours in electric carts. Visitors can also use self-guided trails and signs to explore the scenery within the Park at their own leisure.
